We will be learning a combo as well as a Q & A about tryout and team information- This is a great opportunity to get an idea for what tryout day will look like as well as what our dance style is!

Please bring waiver, payment, water, and any dance or athletic shoes you feel comfortable dancing in.

The Scarlet Dance Line consists of a talented group of young ladies chosen by a panel of judges during the spring tryout. Membership is open to all current UNLV students, entering freshman, or transfer students who have been accepted into UNLV. Students in college (including transfer students) must have a 2.0 grade-point average in order to audition for the team. Previous dance training is highly recommended.

The Scarlet Dance Line is one of the feature units with the UNLV Star of Nevada Marching Band. The dance team performs for all UNLV home football games, selected campus events, community outreach, select away football games (including bowl games), and women's basketball games. The UNLV Scarlet Dance Line does not perform in competitions, but all dancers receive class credit for participation on the team as well as scholarship.

What to wear..

It is recommended that applicants come to the tryout "Game Day Ready" full hair & makeup. The Scarlet Dancers wear their hair DOWN for all performances and appearances. Makeup shades should complement your natural beauty.

When will I find out who made the team?
We will announce the new team the day-of on May 2nd. After the team is posted, there will be a mandatory team meeting immediately following tryouts. During this meeting we will discuss every aspect of what being a member of The Scarlet Dance Line will entail.
